Ron Bohlin
Executive Vice President, Corporate Development and Business Performance
Ron Bohlin brings over twenty five years of strategic consulting and entrepreneurial leadership to his consulting practice with clients and his role as EVP of Corporate Development and Business Performance at The Forum Corporation. A seasoned management consultant with extensive experience in business strategy, business performance improvement and M&A transactions, he works closely with clients to identify and evaluate business opportunities and to help them build the capabilities needed to achieve success. As a successful leader in both early stage companies and large global enterprises, he has broad operational experience and a rich perspective on business development issues.
The core of Ron's consulting experience was gained from eleven years with McKinsey & Company, where he was a partner and leader of the computer industry practice area. At McKinsey, Ron was an innovator in using scenario planning and economic value analysis to evaluate business opportunities, develop focused business strategies and align the agendas of senior management teams. He also gained significant experience designing and implementing performance improvement programs in a variety of industries ranging from Financial Services to Aerospace and Defense.
Following McKinsey, Ron has been an entrepreneurial leader in IT-related consulting businesses. With Digital Equipment Corp, Ron was SVP and Practice Leader for Strategic Services and Learning Services worldwide. He also led the Digital Consulting organization in Europe. As a member of the senior executive team at startup Renaissance Solutions, Ron became a recognized expert in the application of knowledge management methods and technologies to improve core business processes, and helped lead the firm through a successful IPO. As co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Nextera Enterprises, Ron led that firm from initial strategizing through multiple acquisitions and a successful IPO.
In addition to his consulting experience, Ron has held line management roles in marketing, operations and information systems in high tech and services sectors. He also has served as an advisor to Echelon Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm, and Quabbin Capital, Inc., a private equity investment firm.
Ron has an MBA from Harvard Business School and undergraduate degree in engineering from WPI. He is a past member of the Board of Advisors for the Management Department at WPI, and occasionally teaches a graduate level course in Entrepreneurship at Plymouth State University in his home state of New Hampshire.
