Engagement Manager 3

Primary Functions:

 

To expertly plan and manage large, multi-stream client projects to achieve desired results.  This includes balancing client specifications for quality, cost, and time with resource allocations to meet project objectives.   To manage the research, design, development, measurement and implementation of customized learning solutions for client organizations.  Learning solutions will typically be at or above $1 million in revenue per year.  To proactively plan, track, and manage a project's activities to achieve time, cost, and quality performance objectives for a given scope of work while using resources efficiently and effectively.  Responsible for proactive client and team communication and for working directly with the Client Director to expand and deepen the client relationship.

 

Major Responsibilities: 
  • Provide internal and external project leadership for client engagements for large, multi-stream projects with complex solutions or implementation challenges, delivering high levels of customer satisfaction within time and budget parameters.

  • Lead and coach the entire project team to meet or exceed client expectations

  • Maintain client or capital project billable hours at 70%, and travel as needed to client site or other division locations. 

  •  Apply using judgment and insight, Forum's standard Project Management process throughout the  project life cycle. 

  • Partner with Client Director in project re-scoping situations. 

  • Manage financials on projects from the initial scoping through project completion

  • Use Forum's financial management system to allocate project resources, manage budget and project  expenses

  • Proactively manage client and Forum stakeholders throughout life of project with the ultimate outcome of establishing long-term client relationships.

  • In a variety of client and internal team settings,  lead the design and development of, all aspects of the transformation solution (align, equip, sustain), combining elements from existing company capability, as well as modifying or creating customized/"ground-up" print and non-print elements as required.

  • In a variety of client and internal team settings, design and conduct research, and design the project plan for the client learning system.

  • In a variety of client situations, demonstrate the ability to use consulting skills with (up to C-level) stakeholders to drive performance improvement and to build and influence across a range of industry sectors in Forum's practice areas of Sales, Leadership and Service (Customer Experience)

  • Create long-term partnerships with client companies.

  • Generate business in major client accounts, in concert with Client Director or other consultants.

  • Translate the client's business need into an overall concept or framework as well as specific, concrete options for a learning system solution.

 

Organizational Relationships:

 

Major internal influence relationships with Client Directors, Executive Consultants, other Engagement Managers and Associates, Publications staff and other Project Teams.

 

Major external influence relationships with core client team members, stakeholders, and audience members.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Job Experience/Environment:

Experience in managing large complex learning projects.  Experience with linking learning to HR systems a plus.  Consulting experience a plus.

 

Education:                                            

Masters Degree in business administration, or OD related field preferred or relevant equivalent experience.

 

Technical Skills:                               

Strong project management and financial management skills.  Knowledge of key Forum programs or programs with similar content: sales, leadership, and service.  Experience in various research techniques like focus groups, interviewing, etc. to determine client need. Expertise in leadership development, performance management, change management, organization effectiveness/corporate culture.    Computer skills - word processing (Word), financial spreadsheets (Excel), and project planning (a.k.a. Microsoft Project) software packages

 

Selling Skills:

Solid presentation to mid and senior level clients; team selling

 

Managerial Skills:

Maintain superb client relationships and strong internal team relationships.

               

Professional Skills:

Strong communication skills and presence, intellectual, curiosity and love of learning, high energy level, self-motivated and team player/leader, passion for work, pioneering spirit.
